The Next Target Stop: Mount Pinatubo
October 16, 2008
This is still in draft, but hopefully, we can make it happen. =)
Mount Pinatubo is an active stratovolcano located on the island of Luzon in the Philippines, at the intersection of the borders of the provinces of Zambales, Tarlac, and Pampanga. Ancestral Pinatubo was a stratovolcano made of andesite and dacite. Before 1991, the mountain was inconspicuous and heavily eroded. It was covered in dense forest which supported a population of several thousand indigenous people, the Aeta, who had fled to the mountains from the lowlands when the Spanish conquered the Philippines in 1565.
The volcano’s eruption in June 1991 produced the second largest terrestrial eruption of the 20th century.[3] The 1991 eruption had a Volcanic Explosivity Index (VEI) of 6, and came some 450-500 years after the volcano’s last known eruptive activity (estimated as VEI 5, the level of the 1980 eruption of Mount St. Helens), and some 500-1000 years after previous VEI 6 eruptive activity.[4] Successful predictions of the onset of the climactic eruption led to the evacuation of tens of thousands of people from the surrounding areas, saving many lives, but surrounding areas were severely damaged by pyroclastic flows, ash deposits, and later by lahars[3] caused by rainwater remobilizing earlier volcanic deposits: thousands of houses and other buildings were destroyed.
The effects of the eruption were felt worldwide. It ejected roughly 10 billion metric tons of magma, and 20 million tons of SO2, bringing vast quantities of minerals and metals to the surface environment. It injected large amounts of aerosols into the stratosphere—more than any eruption since that of Krakatoa in 1883. Over the following months, the aerosols formed a global layer of sulfuric acid haze. Global temperatures dropped by about 0.5 °C°F), and ozone depletion temporarily increased substantially. (0.9

I never knew that there is a paradise in the heart of Bulacan.
Lavishing Potipot Island, Zambales
August 25, 2008It’s where Silver Surfer’s third team building was held. Dream come true as I have been planning to explore this island with my RMH girl friends na di matuloy tuloy. Let me give you some information about this island and its beauty.
Potipot Island is located roughly 1 km from the mainland shore of Uacon, Candelaria, Zambales. Uacon is about 240+km from Manila by road.
Some of the attractions of Potipot Island are: its white sands that completely surround the whole island, the calm clear waters, its proximity to the mainland that allows visitors to reach the island in only 5 minutes by banca, the lush vegetation and trees that provide shade along the beach (and even on the water).
There are no resorts on the island. Visitors usually stay at the resorts on the mainland in Uacon where they hire bancas to take them to Potipot.
If you are planning to just head for the island directly and not stay on the resorts (as on a day trip), you can contact boatmen who hang around the beach near the resorts or at the fishing village several hundred meters north of Dawal and get a banca to the island. Rate for round trip is P500 per banca that could ferry up to 10 people.

The good thing about this island is its natural state. No resorts for accommodation. You have to bring everything you need for your whole stay. However, I believe that there is a small sari sari store on the island. Unfortunately, I was not able to confirm if there really is.
By the way, there’s a rocky part in Potipot. It is in the Southhwestern part of the island. You have to wear slippers on this part as the sand is coarse.
And where’s the best place to go photo op, but on the area of the island where you can see dead trees and big rocks on the shoreline! Perfect for modeling!

Yearning to come back to explore this place again.
Building Camaraderie in Anilao, Batangas
February 15, 2008
The first out of town team building. Anilao, Batangas!
Anilao, Batangas is a VERY popular spot for diving and snorkeling. It is known worldwide. The waters are teeming with marine life, plenty of corals and amazing diversity of fishes. It is hard to imagine that this beautiful place is just about 3 to 4 hours from Manila.
The northwest shore of the Calumpang Peninsula, from Anilao to Bagalangit, is lined with plenty of good resorts that cater primarily to divers. From any of the resorts, you can rent a boat for island hopping or arrange for a dive tour and visit the superb diving spots, coves, and islands like the Sombrero and Maricaban islands.
Cool, clear water!
This place is really good for diving!
Back to Baguio! (2.2008)

” Ang ganda ng Baguio, bakit niyo pa iiwan?”
- manong cab driver (12:45AM, on the way to the Victory Liner terminal - leaving Baguio City)
New surrounding, new people.
Why don’t we?
Baguio will always be my choice. Baguio is definitely my place. Baguio will always be my second home.

Off to Putipot Island - Zambales
July 11, 2007
I have been arranging my schedule for my next travel which will be in Zambales. I've been researching in the internet on what will be the next destination for exploring.
I found this beautiful island in Northern Luzon and it seems a perfect place for relaxing and photoshooting.
With all it's beauty, I think Putipot Island is the next big stop!
I posted some of the teasers. =)

Masterpieces
July 7, 2007I have compiled some of the photos I took which I consider my masterpieces. Some of them were taken using my camfone (Nokia 6680) which I have posted already on my previous blogs and some by my recently bought digicam which is a Sony DSC-W55.
I have also posted some of these on photo websites.
Any comments will be appreciated.
Thank you and enjoy!
My First Blog in I.ph
July 5, 2007
I discovered this site when I was researching for our next travel destination with my gurl friends (Tala and Jogz). I already have a blogsite but thinking of separating my musings about my light travels and explorations from my personal and daily experiences about my job, friends, angst, etc. gives me excitement as this will highly reflect my other personality… my other side.
There will be no pictures of me. Just the photos that I took during my travel galore and of any subject I found interesting. There will be photos of friends and people but definitely, no mine.
I will also be posting blogs about my past travels according to the date so pardon if you'll see this blog posted ahead of those travels.
One of Mindoro’s Finest - The Island of Puerto Galera
April 25, 2007The galore was a success.
We had fun though 3 lan kami na natuloy. But, we enjoyed each other's company and made up some lost times with Tala.
We spent 3 days and two nights on the island (from Saturday to Monday). Whew, grabe pa rin ang tao! But I bet, mas maraming tao nung lent.
Kakahilo ung boat ride. Sobrang lakas na kasi ng alon. Yung mama na nakasakay sa harap ng boat, sobrang basa! Wahehehe! I guess he had fun with waters naman.
When we arrived, sobrang init sa island! We waited for our contact dun sa bahay where we'll stay, at ang tagal nyang dumating ha! Imbey si tala!
Ok naman un haus kaso, it's 5 minutes away from the beach. Well, naghanap kasi kami ng mura kaya pasensya. The haus is okay naman. With 2 beds, kasya 2 persons/bed. Ok din ung tubig sa bathroom. Malinis din naman. Un nga lang, the way to the haus is kinda… masukal tsaka madilim. Also, one thing na mahirap dun, pag me nakalimutan kang dalin sa beach, sobrang hassle pabalik kasi nga malayo. Pero naman if you wanna have a good night sleep, away from the noise at the bars, ideal naman un place. As in makakatulog ka talaga ng mahimbing— mahimbing nga ba? Wahahaha!!!
1st night sa beach, we had a full body massage at the shore. Masarap na masakit! Imagine, that's the first time I had a massage since I worked in the call center industry! And I wanna thank Tala for giving me the opportunity! Hahaha!!! Sobrang amoy latik kami sa oil na ginamit nung masseuse. Amoy matanda!!!
2nd day, we went to the beach as early as 5:30 am to bask under the sun. Xemfre, tan lines ang goal namin! Kaso nga lan– inde naman gnun ka define un tan lines naming tatlo. At 9am, mejo masakit na sa balat ung araw kaya umalis na rin kami. Plus, dead hungry na rin kami kasi we did not have dinner the night before. Nagpa henna si Jogz and Tala. Ako inde na– ala na ako budget, wahahaa!!!
We went home to eat. As in super gutom kami! After eating, picture taking ulet. Tapus tulog. I wole up at 3pm– niyaya ko na sila ulet sa beach. Pero, dahil pumunta sa Galera si Tala para matulog– kami na lang ni Jogz ang umalis. We bought tickets na rin for tomorrow. We planned to leave the island early in the morning kasi me pasok pa kami ni Tala. When we went back sa hauz ni Jogz, gnicing namin si tala para mag swimming ulet sa beach.
On the third day, we gathered our things coz we're leaving the island early in the morning. Sigh… When we reached the shore, there were quietness and the calmness. Sarap talaga pag weekdays kaso, our sked forbode us in going to the island on weekdays.
I feel like crying talaga. I still don't wanna leave yet. Sayang, it's a perfect time to stroll and explore Puerto Galera.
As the boat begun to sail away from the island, I promised myself, "I shall return and lavish the beauty of Puerto Galera."
* Photos are coutesy of Jogz. Don't have a camera yet and I don't have my camfone with me. Sigh…
The Islands of Lemery, Batangas
March 31, 2007The team building was held in Lemery, Batangas. I forgot the name of the beach resort where we stayed but it's not that good.
We left Shaw Blvd at almost 6PM and rented a van since we almost occupied it. We arrived at almost 10PM. We unpacked our things and helped prepared the food. We also occupied the rooftop where most of the activities were held.
We did not splurge through the waters since it was so dark. We just decided to wait till morning to swim and see what the beach can offer us.
At morning, after eating breakfast, we checked out the beach and found out that it's not that bad at all. The sand is grayish and it's not pleasing for me. One of the bangkeros told us that there are islands we can go to and swim. So, off to the islands!
Serenity in Calatagan, Batangas
February 25, 2007
Caisip Beach Resort, our destination in Calatagan, Batangas.
During my stay in my previous call center, my colleagues and I planned to have a break from our stresful job in this resort. Unfortunately, it did not push through.
Now, my other set of friends wants to have a quiet and peaceful place where we can relax and have chitchats without thinking of the time and the people who can hear our angst.
I thought of this resort. I contacted the owner. Fortunately, after a year, I still have the contact number.
For 1,500 pesos, we can rent the "kubo" overnight. The beach entrance is already included. We can also bring an extra appliance with no additional cost.
We left QC-Kamias at 12:00 afternoom. Unfortunately, we rode the wrong bus and headed a wrong route. We arrived at the resort at 6:00PM.
From the gate, we saw the golden sea as the sun was beginning to set. There were ooohhhs and aaahhhs as the place is really a beauty. The sand is brownish and fine. The water is clear and cool. There were starfishes too! Some lying on the sand, some are buried under. You can smell the sea and the wind is refreshing.
The cottage is like a kubo in horror movies where a manananggal can just enter it through it's wide-opened window and kill us all. Hehehe!
We set a bonfire and roasted some marshmallows. We also had barbecues and hotdogs.
Morning is a great time to explore where some sea creatures are visible as the tide is very low. At noon, the clear water comes back to the shore. That's a good time to swim and bask under the sun.
Though we spent an almost 6 hours travel time, I think it's worth it.
The City of Pines - Baguio City
January 29, 2007Apple and I went back to Baguio after almost a year.
Weeehhh!! Super lamig and I underestimated the weather. I did not bring any clothing that would keep me warm kaya sobrang sakit ng ulo ko nun sa adjustment ng temperature.
Anyway, we had fun! We went to Good Sheperd, Mines View, The Mansion, Wright Park, Session Road, SM Baguio, La Trinidad Valley, Strawberry Fields, Bell Church and Burnham Park.
We're planning to go back there as well. Sobrang init kasi dito sa kapatagan and it sores!
* No digicam yet. I only used my ever reliable camfone.
